Frequently Asked Questions

When should we run a Platform Engineering Assessment?

When you know there are issues - cluster sprawl, reliability concerns, platform team strain, rising costs, blocked engineering teams - but want an expert view of what to fix and in what order before committing to a larger programme.

What does the assessment deliver?

A written platform architecture review, a maturity assessment across key dimensions (architecture, operating model, observability, IaC, developer experience), a risk and gap analysis, and a prioritised roadmap with effort estimates and recommended next steps.

Do we need to commit to follow-on work?

No. The assessment is scoped as a standalone engagement. Many clients then engage us for a Platform Engineering Transformation, but the assessment is designed to be useful on its own - including if you decide to deliver the work internally or with another partner.

How much access do you need?

Read-only access to clusters, IaC repositories, CI/CD, observability, and documentation, plus structured interviews with platform engineers, application teams, and engineering leadership. We work in your environment - we do not extract or replicate code.
